James Bond was born to a Scottish father and a
French-Swiss mother. He entered the British Secret Service and became
one the government's most feared assassins as a member of the 007
section.
Among his trademarks are vodka martinis, the dry wit, his love of women
and the technological gadgets provided by Q Branch.
He was married once, to Countess Teresa, daughter of Marc-Ange Draco.
His nemesis, Blofeld, killed her shortly after their wedding.
In the novels, he went into a period of depression following his wife's
murder and headed out to Japan on a mission to find Blofeld. He was
presumed lost after the events of "You Only Live Twice," but
was discovered to have survived. He suffered amnesia and lived on a
Japanese island among the fishermen. He made his way to the Soviet Union
where he was brainwashed into becoming a Soviet assassin.
Fortunately his attempt on the life of M was unsuccessful. After his
successful mission against the villain Scaramanga, he was offered a
knighthood. He turned it down.
